It's A "Give That Photo A Name" Contest to celebrate my 100th post!

Time's Up! Thanks for all of the great entries, I'll have a winner announced sometime tomorrow, after I finish my Christmas shopping, that is.

With the Pioneer Woman's go ahead, here is my very own version of "Give That Photo A Name!"

I love this picture. I have a large version of it leaning on the counter in my kitchen. This photo is my oldest daughter, strolling the beach in the Bahamas. I love this picture for so many reasons, I love seeing the beach, the water, and the bright sunshine every day. This picture reminds me of a wonderful vacation we had, but it also reminds me of our love of travel to different beach destinations. I love how she looks so lost in her thoughts, and I love how intently she is looking for shells with her green bucket. I also love the reminder that while we are here in the icy cold of a Midwest winter, this beach is still there, in all its warm, Carribean glory, waiting for us to visit again.

Not only do I love this picture, but I LOVE this girl. She is my oldest, my first, my guinea pig, and she is fun! She is at such a great age right now, not yet a teen, not a child, but a really cool kid. Her personality is changing and developing and I am loving getting to know her at this age. My emotions run deep for this one, she has me wrapped around her finger. We have a special bond, her and I. When I was nine months pregnant with her, I lost my grandma, suddenly and unexpectedly. It was the darkest time of my life. And this baby, my first baby, she pulled me back, she gave me my life back. She needed me. And I desperately needed her.

So your job internet friends, is to give this photo a title. What would you call it? Get those creative juices flowing, because the winner receives a prize! A prize! That you could win! You could win a TV! A brand new, still in its sealed box, LCD, flat screen, 15" TV, identical to the one I have on my kitchen counter. Cause a girl has to to keep up with an E True Hollywood Story every now and then while she's working in the kitchen.

So there you have it!
Now get busy and give me a title for that photo! I'll leave the comments open until tonight at 9pm, CST. The winner will be announced on Saturday, and one of you creative people will have a new flat screen to start off the New Year!

How's that for a 100th post?

Searching for Perfection

We've all been on beaches where you just keep looking - because you know that perfect little shell is out there... somewhere... oh... maybe it's right here! And so the search continues... much like life!

"Wonders of the Ocean"

I think that fits this picture perfectly:) Of all the "life" in the ocean, it's this girl, your duaghter, who's the biggest wonder of them all.

What fun! You know how to have a 100th Post Party!!

How about "A Treasure Revealed"?

Scott said...

"Seek And Ye Shall Find" or
"Seek and You Will Find" if you're not feeling so classicly KJV at the moment.

She may have no clue at all that she is more beautiful and amazing than any shell or treasure she could find on the shore. And YOU have been the one blessed by finding her at the right time in your life.

GORGEOUS photo, Lisa. I can see why you love it.

Can't wait to see what people come up with! How about:

"Treasure Hunting"

She is clearly a treasure!

Love the picture! so sweet and innocent. I see why you adore it!

And, WOW! A TV?!! You are so very generous!!

Ok. here's my entry:

"The Beginning of My Collection"

She is "collecting" shells and she is the "first/beginning" of your collection of kids and of starting a family. :)

I like titles with two ways of looking at it.

unconscious bliss, because she isnt quite a teen, she is still in that childhood phase where its fun to look for shells, and hang out with your parents and family at the beach. all too soon, she will want to be at the mall with her friends. so i would name it unconscious bliss, because one day she will look back at that time and realize how happy she was and how good she had it, but she has no idea right now. right now she's just a kid looking for the perfect shell. merry christmas!!!

Wow girl! Look at your bad self, with a contest and 100 posts and everything. Congratulations! And many, many more. I love your blog.

My suggested picture title: "Tide Pull." I feel like it's not my best work, but it's all I'm going to get out of my brain this morning.

Congrats on your 100th post!

How about

"Seashells, Wishes and Waves"

Hmmm, doesn't look as good as it sounded in my head, lol.

"Bahamian Bliss"

or

"Everything that grows holds in perfection but a little moment"

Technically, that is probably more of a caption than a title, but, I love that Shakespeare quote. Congrats on 100 posts! This is such a generous giveaway. The way you describe your feelings toward your daughter just about made me cry; it's a beautiful photo.

Something about the innoncence of the ocean (it is still vastly the same as it was hundreds of years ago) combining with the innoncence of youth in this picture makes me want to aptly name it:

"Carribean Innoncence"

"My Bright Blue Wish"

What a beautiful photo! It says so much already, I think it needs a simple name . . . "Island Girl".

Looks like I missed the deadline by 7 minutes! :(

But I still had to comment and let you know that it's a gorgeous picture. And you are a completely wonderful -- and crazy -- blogger to be giving away a TV!

You've got some great "title" suggestions here. There's one that's a clear winner in my mind . . . I wonder if it's the one you'll pick?

Gordostyle said...

Please don't look at the time...I didn't get here in time! Ok, here's my suggestion:

While visions of seashells danced in her head...

Great give away - and Merry, Merry Christmas Blessings to you and yours!

OK, so clearly I need to pay attention to the deadline - had no idea it was one day, so I took a night to think on it. DARN!

Good luck to the on time creative thinkers :)

Still loving the blog layout!

no, your comment was not too long - i use my comment section like e-mail anyhow. plus i'm just glad for any comment long or short, who cares!
no, i had not heard the latest survivor gab - that is so weird - too bad she ruined her reputation on national tv with a lie - guess she didn't know the game was over.

You have the best Christmas with your cute little family - enjoy, relax and Merry Christmas!

Pedaling said...

me again - just read the other comment that you left - missed it before -
so what makes you think i've got my laudry under control? i've got the washing up to date - its the folding and putting away or at least in the room where it belongs, that i am way behind - yesterday i actually took 6 full, no, overflowing, baskets of clean clothes, folded, sorted and delivered them to the appropriate room -
yeah, i make it look good because for me it's therapudic to write down more of the positive - reminding me to be grateful. also my kids read my entries so this is another way for me to communicate, if you know what i mean?
life is good - but don't be fooled into thinking that it's perfect for us - anytime you think someones life is perfect (perfect fam, house, life, bod....) you just don't know them well enough.

take care!

how's that for a long comment?
