I just have a few quick thoughts for today given as how my posting this week of the Great Bloggy Q&A, Parts 1 & 2, turned out to be rather wordy, to say the least.
---I got an email! From a reader! Someone actually used that little link on my sidebar that says email me. Thank you, thank you! I actually feel like a real blogger now!
The sweet person that emailed me had recently just seen my post on finding the perfect pair of jeans. She wanted to know if I thought these would work on someone who was not my size?
At first, I was a bit confused. What did she mean by 'not my size'? So I emailed her back and asked her. And she said that she thought that the picture I posted of the jeans, I had selected because that photo resembled my body type and showed the way the jeans actually looked on me.
It does not.
I can assure everyone, that indeed, while I do own and wear this exact pear of jeans, I am nowhere near looking, anything remotely, like those legs in that picture. Not even close. To the legs, the hips, or the flat stomach. Except maybe when I was a too tall, skinny and awkward 12 year old girl.
But really, not even then.
Let me take a moment now to just offer up some praise to Target for the wide range of jean sizes that they offer.
---Mark your calendars for Monday, Sept.29th. I am going to participate in Shannon's It's Fall Y'all giveaway. Because here in Chicago, I don't get many opportunities to say Y'all. So I am really gonna run with it.
And I love it.
'Cause it's Fall Y'all.
So if you go here, you can read all the details and think about participating for yourself.
Y'all should really do it.
And make sure you come back here on Monday, October 29th and see what I am giving away!
It's something I love and I think you will too.
Because it's Fall, Y'all!
---And lastly, I decided to take the leap and post a picture of myself. I am very nervous about this. In fact, I have been having major anxiety about this. Again, my neck finds itself a bit red and itchy. I have no idea why. I just think I am more comfortable saying what's on my mind if I remain somewhat anonymous. Even though I clearly am going to run into the New Diva on the Blog and Jenny from Chicago at Target, at some point.
But, given that I had such a great response to my Bloggy Q&A, and I'm really appreciative of that, AND the fact that one of you sweet, generous, kind-hearted souls actually threw me a bone and thought I shared a similar figure with the jean model girl, I feel I must set the record straight.
So here's me. In the white coat. Looking like The Michelin Man's sister.
Y'all see the resemblance?

No resemblance AT ALL, y'all (jumping on the wagon AND making it rhyme). What are you talking about? That is a super cute picture. Your friends, I presume?
And I assume you got my email also? Not sure if it went through.
Heidi
How cute are you?? You look like you're 20, girl!
xoxo,
martha
Hey, it's so great to see you!! What a great picture! You look like you're having a blast and I agree with Martha, you look like you're 20! I admit, I'm a little jealous!!
And in my books, you don't actually need a reason to say "Y'ALL" other than that it's just plain fun!!
I am seriously LOL at the Michelin Man pic following yours!!!
You are too cute!
I think that this Jersey girl (now living in MD) should do the Fall Y'all give-away, too, just so I get to say Y'all a bunch of times, too!!!!
Have a great day!
I figured you would be one of the other 3 girls in the photo since the one in the white coat looked like a college kid and CERTAINLY not a mom of four! You are adorable!!
I'm loving all the great usage of one of my favorite words...YA'LL!! I feel so at home on this blog! :)
Wow, you look the older sister of your children not their mother.
I too thought you were one of the others in the photo just because you look too young.
You are so young looking...great picture...I would be proud of that picture...
Nice to put a face with the blog. You're darling - not at all michelin-like. Stop talking like that, girlfriend!
Great picture of you Lisa- and those lovely ladies along for a good haunted house trip! That white coat looks like it would be a beacon of light inside a scary haunted house!

Hi Lisa,
Not getting your emails...very strange! hbjerkan@scantran.com ??
Try again! :)
Take care,
Heidi
Yeah! It's so good to see you. I'll have to agree with everyone else, you look so young & cute!
Well, the coat does sorta look like the Michelin man, but you?
OH MY GOD, YOU DO NOT. You are so cute and your skin? GLOWS. How do you get your skin to glow like that?
And your hair color? fabulous.
Skin tone? TO DIE FOR.
And you're are so youthful.
I hate you now.
You are a nut! :)
What a cute picture! I was thinking you were a tall brunette. Don't no why. I agree with everyone else - you look like you are 20! So, now I need to know - how recent of a picture is this??? Or maybe you started having kids when you were about 14! :) I think you've put yourself in a corner to now you are going to have to disclose your age! LOL!
I just posted the first picture of myself on my blog, too. I wasn't too worried as it is a horrible picture (of me) and was meant to be. Maybe I'll have to get gussied up sometime and then post a good one.
As always, I'm enjoying your blog!
Becky
Yes, y'all IS such a fun word to say! I say it all the time. Luckily down here in the sticks of Alabama they don't look at me funny cause everyone says it. Now if I walked around saying "yous guys" like my Wisconsin family does, I'd get some strange looks! :)
No resemblance at all. Yes, the coat is puffy, but that's the coat, not you. If it makes you feel any better, back in June I posted a photo of myself wearing white hospital scrubs when I was the designated parent to accompany #1 child into the operating room for her tonsillectomy. Oh yeah, THAT was a bad photo!
I literally LOL about the Michelin Man.

Totally cracking me up on the pic and the michlin man...
I want your hair color - Fabulous!
no way! What are you thinking? You're gorgeous!
